Home Sweet Home Rosalie

How I wish I was able to meet my niece and personally greet her welcome home and happy new year when she arrived in the country on the 27th of this month. She will be heading to Bicol soon so we will have a very slim chance of seeing each other here in Manila (maybe she is there already while I am writing this post). How I miss our hometown so much.  Our plan to go home this Christmas did not push thru because my grandmother came to Manila already.   Hopefully, I still can pay a visit to bicol soon enough, and catch my niece in Bicol.  It would be a miracle.

Just a bit of story about my niece, she was also brought up by her grandmother, just like me. And sent to school by supportive aunts and uncles. She is a registered nurse now who is currently based in Cairo, Egypt.

Rosalie is on the right most, I managed to grab one of her picture from facebook.
I am now looking for some nursing uniforms as a present for her.  I have to find a way to give it to her before she go back to Cairo when her vacation finishes.  I would be lucky to find a burnt orange scrubs for her because its her favorite color.  Making a quick search online gave me these beautiful cotton scrub uniforms that really feels nice to wear.  Hopefully, I will find orange scrub for her, that would be lovely.  "Talie, hope you have a very lovely stay in the country, enjoy and relax. 2011 Calendar | Philippine Holidays

Allow me to share this 2011 Calendar for Philippine Holiday that I got from Portal Seven.   I looked for this not to plan for a trip to the mall or to the nearest zoo to stroll with my son and husband, its because I have work on these days, remember my previous  post about the holidays here.
There you go, count your trips to the mall or may be out of towns.

Gift Giving 2010

Our kids had a blast and enjoyed all the gifts they received this christmas.  After spending half of the day in
Bulacan with my relatives we hit the road going to Antipolo to celebrate christmas too with Rey's relatives. The traditional gift giving for the kids is always full of fun, not only for the kids but for us too.  Of course its not really price of gifts  that count but the thought of giving is what  is always important.  And true meaning of christmas with being together at least for a day in each year remembering the birth of Jesus Christ.

that's Gab, excitedly opening his gift with the help of his Papa Rey
very nice gift, thank you Tito Boyboy

that's Matthew with Ate Yma at his back, saying thank you for his gift from Tito Boyboy
lots  of fun and excitement!!!
this is Ate Yma for her gift to Nanay Pising

There you go, all the kids and adults had fun in the spirit of sharing.  All these made posible with the help of payday cash advance.

Christmas Day 2010

Our christmas day celebration is superb.  We visited my grandmother who is my son's great grandmother in Bulacan and one of my Aunt and Uncle came with us also. My grandmother was really happy to see us all on a christmas day.  This is an event we are all looking forward since my grandmother live in the province and is very seldom here in Manila.

Look at how she had fun with her great grand siblings...

I was brought up by my grandmother and my son is lucky to meet and play with her, very strong at 84 years of age.  And mind you, she do texting a lot!!!

Mom's Sweet Cravings

Please allow me to share with you one of our source of happiness and full stomach in the office and this christmas season.  Our favorite dessert "Mom's Sweet Cravings Homebaked Goods.

Check the photos,  and crave, until you felt the need to place an order!!!

Gab's Past Time

I wonder what's with kids nowadays.  My son Gab doesn' t like toys, I mean real toys.  He would rather play with some things instead of toys that kids would normally want  to play with.

Look at that boy playing inside the closet, and the toy in his hand, its one of our calculator.

Thanks to Ninang Chel for the new Bench Teddy bear he got as Christmas present.
Gab loves it and keeps on kissing the bear on its nose.

New Year's Resolution 2011

I know I should have thought of my new years resolutions days before, but honestly I only realized it after reading a blog about it earlier.  The good old high school days of exchanging ideas about new year's resolution has gone and now I've been busy thinking about our supposedly trip to Bicol and other christmas agenda.  Oh yeah, our planned trip to bicol will not push thru because my Lola decided to travel all the way  to Manila to celebrate christmas with all of her siblings here in Manila.

Going back to my new year's resolution, I really don't have anything.  Its not that I don't want to change anything or improve anything in me for the coming year, but I guess it would be better if I don't mention anything at all and have no promises to be broken.  Maybe one thing that I can mention is I need to decide a new theme for my new blog.  Since having another blog that is bothering me aside from my christmas preparation, I'll make it a goal to at least finalize one before the new year's eve if I get lucky, or latest would be the first week of 2011.

Christmas Shopping 2010

We just had our shopping for christmas 2010 this last Sunday, though we were budgeted, my little boy surely enjoyed his visit at the mall with so many people.  What could I expect, this is the last weekend before Christmas and everyone is rushing.

Not only we were budgeted, we were also time pressured. We were only able to hit few sections in the mall.

my two boy's checking the men's clothing area

behave???

Gab playing hide and seek
We were only able to hit the men's clothing area, childrens wear and ladies shoes section.   We spent longer than usual to find clothes that will fit Gab.  We initially went to the children's wear to find something for him but his size was too small for the childrens's area, so we were sent away to the baby's section.  Do you think this boy would find his size at infants?  After being shoo away for the 2nd time, we were lucky to pick a size 4 shorts from Garfield and a size 10 shirt from Napoleon.

Shopping Online, my first time

Would you believe that I am a virgin from shopping online. I won't force you to believe me, it is really sometimes hard to believe that someone who has her own blog and always on the internet, does not do online shopping.  Well, its very similar to my being Bicolana yet I have not gone to Mayon Volcano.  You would really be more surprise if I tell you that I grew up in Bicol until I went to school in Manila on my 3rd grade of my elementary school.  Another thing that my friends find unbelievable is I do not understand the native dialect in Bicol, but I do the Cebuano dialect.  I know its funny, but that's just the way it is.

And because I do not do online shopping before I want to do my first with a noble cause.  I was surprised that I have almost $200 in my paypal account that I can use to shop.  I think it will be a good idea to purchase online some gifts for me and Rey and for our baby.  I was playing with words using google search engine and suprise to get lots of cigaratte related article when I typed the word "cigars internet".  I am actually looking for nice article or souvenir item that I can read or purchase online to encourage Rey to quit smoking.  Its not bad idea to spend my $200 if it will make Rey quit smoking.  Oh well, my husband is never a chain smoker, I just want him to quit because I do not smoke and to prevent other bad effect of smoking in our body.  Peace to all those who smoke, I love you all and have nothing against you.

Anyone who can recommend me any souvenirs available online that has something to do with cigars?  I would really appreciate your advise.

Charice Christmas Song Lyrics

And because its only eight days before Christmas, I'd like to share this song to everyone.

Chestnuts roasting on an open fire

Jack Frost nipping at your nose

Yuletide carols being sung by a choir

And folks dressed up like Eskimos

Everybody knows a turkey and some mistletoe

Help to make the season bright

Tiny tots with their eyes all aglow

Will find it hard to sleep tonight

They know that Santa's on his way

He's loaded lots of toys and goodies on his sleigh

And every mother's child is gonna spy

To see if reindeer really know how to fly

And so I'm offering this simple phrase,oh

To kids from one to ninety two

Although it's been said many times, many ways

Merry Christmas to you

And so I'm offering this simple phrase

To kids from one to ninety two

Although it's been said many times, many ways

Merry Christmas, Merry Christmas, Merry Christmas to you

Christmas Visit to my Grandmother

We will visit my grandmother this coming christmas, 10 days to go and I am off to Bicol, to where I grew up and had most of my childhood.  My grandmother is already excited to see my son, in fact she send text messages everyday  to remind that she will play with Gab once we're in Bicol.  I would be adding more photos of my lola and baby in my blog, see their old photo here.

It will be very hectic schedule for me this month.  I will not enjoy being off to work before Christmas and before New Year. In fact, I will be in the office on Christmas and New Year's midnight to work, and then w'll be on the road going to my home town.   I hope Santa will put the best acne treatments handbook on my red sack this Christmas Eve. I really need to avoid getting pimples during these kinds of occasion.

wishes

Remember what I told you about the prizes at stake in our Glee Themed Christmas Party 2010 in the office,
here. And the iphone I was hoping to get for free, here. I still can't get over about prizes that I was hoping to wpn from our Christmas party.  I remember kidding with Chel that I will give her my desktop free if I get the hp mini notebook. I've been nice this year and I wonder if my wishes will come true.

Its been three years already and I am still not lucky to get even one of the prize, even the not so expensive ones. In 2008, I salivated for a home theater that is at stake and the trip to Hong Kong for two.  In 2009, Rey attented the party with me at SMX instead of the usual PICC and we both salivated for a wii.

I wonder when will my name be picked as one of the major prize winner. Oh, but I must not forget, this year my name was picked for a consolation prize of 300 worth of Gift Certificate.

Glee Christmas Party 2010

We had our blast last Saturday night.  Our company was very generous to gather all of us employees at the Philippine International Convention Center, commonly called as PICC. I have been in this company for 3 years now and we had celebrated our christmas party twice already in PICC, the other was at SMX Convention Center near Mall of Asia.

I love it when its done in PICC, we have lots of foods in the buffet table courtesy of Via Mare ( yum yum cheese cake!)

it's a Glee theme party!

Me, Julie, Chel and Sophie
Party started at 730pm, and we attacked the buffet at exactly 735pm, after the invocation. I stayed with my friends until the raffle finished, hoping we will be on of the lucky winners, I guess its not yet our chance, better luck next year.  The party was lovely and its one of the best reason why I am staying in the company and wait until next year for another raffle.

Rey fetched me after the party, and on our way home, he was telling about this website that offers engineering job to engineers like him.  Well, I stick to my promise not to leave my company, unless its an offer where he can take me and Gab with him where ever he goes.

Our Electronics Inventory

We love electronic gadgets but we are not techy.   If I you look at the things we bought since Rey and I got married, you will see how we are fascinated with these gadgets.

a desktop
a psp
a laptop
a dvd player ( we also bought one when were not yet married)
home speakers
a fridge
a tv
2 cellphones ( his minimum requirement is it should have a good sound or at least a Sony Ericson)
a vios

His christmas wish is to get an Altec Lansing headset from me , one that he can use for his cellphone and laptop and desktop.

Excited to go hydroponics in Laguna

I am getting more excited in moving to our place in Laguna next year. Hopefully anytime in January we can move already, that is if our tenant will vacant the place early.  Then we can do the cleaning, renovating and preparing the place for moving in.

Our place in not that big, its not what you can imagine as a fenced unit inside a subdivision.  What we bought is a row house, one of a five unit row house and ours is in the middle part.   Sad to say I do not have a garden to grow plants and veggies on my free time. Instead I thought of going hydroponics, oops sorry for being technical.  Hydroponics is coined Greek word, hydro means water and  ponos meaning labor.  This is an impressive way of growing plants using water with mineral nutrient solutions. I think I can set up my roof top for this.

Check these nutrients I found online, they will be very helpful to my new garden.

I want to have my own business

I have been an employee since before I finish my college and sometimes my mind and body refuses to report  to work but my financial needs and expenses never ceases.  I have come to a point to stop longing for a lucrative and high paying job because I do not like to become a new employee again to another company.  Good thing, I got a job from a very good company, though I am still not convinced that it's what I really want to do.

After giving birth to my baby, I can no longer count the things that changed in me, in my perspectives and in my priorities.  Being tied to a job, 9 hours each day and away from home is no longer a good idea all the time. If I could only stay at home and play with my son all day long and attend to his needs will be a nice one.

I need to earn but I cannot be tied to office works anymore. Having my own business is a good idea.  I can put up a convinience store, but  I am not yet decided what to sell. Hopefully this will materialize soon.  When it does, I will teach Gab to use a barcode scanner so he can help me to attend our customers.  It will be a fun  game for him for sure.

The Engineer

My husband Rey is works as an engineer, they put up buildings.  He's been in this job rather vocation for almost a decade and does not think of shifting to another field.  I think he enjoys it.   Sometimes I thought of him like a child, appreciating the buildings he contributed to be built like a very nice toy.   And there are times that he would really request to visit and take a look at those buildings especially when we are just within the area where he worked before.

McKinley Park Residence - Global City
Look at this one, this the McKinley Park Residence in Global City Taguig. This is first condo unit they built.  This is where he was assigned when he first become a father.

At a very young age, my son showed interest playing lego and building blocks.   I wonder if he knows that his father works to build buildings or its just something he finds fun to play with.  If Gab becomes an engineer as well, I wonder if its still buildings out of cement he will build or steel buildings.  Look at  how he enjoy with his lego.

I would love to get a new phone for Christmas

I do not want to replace my phones.  They are not very new but I can still use it well.  I am using  2 Nokia units one of it was a freebie from my old postpaid plan.  And a Sony Ericson brand, one that I got from Greenhills about 3 years ago.

I need to have these three phones for my e-load business. And the most important reason of all why I am keeping these phones is my little boy, he loves to play with cellphones.  And since he is a year and a half only, playing for them is boundless, nothing matters as long as they enjoy it, even if it means tearing my phones apart.   Well, my phones are tough, it has been tossed and  tumbled many times but I did not need any service from the repair man.  So, if I will give in to this htc desire 2.2, my guilt will be killing me not to let my son play with phones.  Therefore, for this christmas, it will only be listed on my wishlist and let the desire go away.  But how can you, if this is a beautiful as this one?

Facebook Profile Pictures

Ever wondered why most of our friends profile on facebook were cartoon characters?  Its was because of the campaign called "Campaign to End Violence Against Children", which was alledgely initiated by someone in Greece,  see it this link will work, here. And the way to support the campaign is to have your facebook profile picture change to your favorite cartoon character. Though the campaign was only initiated and promoted until 6th December, I think it was a success, a lot of people supported the campaign by changing their profile pictures.

Well, I really have nothing to say much, this post is one of my blah blah, I overheard group of friends last night on my way home wondering why most facebook profiles were cartoon characters, and I just thought of writing about it.

Dream wedding gifts

I've been married for about four years now. Yes, I did not realize it until now, it had been four quick years. Rey and I have been blessed with a son, we named him Gabriel Rey, I had him named after Rey. We'll, Rey doesn't want any of his son to be called his "Jr" so I copied his nick name. Nice isn't?
I've been surfing the web recently looking for a nice christmas gift, but when I came accross a website that promotes sweet wedding gifts, I felt so excited and suddenly day-dreamed about what I wish to expect from my husband for our wedding anniversaries in the years to come. I want something unique and simple and thought traditional wedding anniversary gifts will be the best. I also learned that fourth anniversary is being symbolized by fruits, so this lovely bunch of flowers and fruits will be perfect for me.
Fruit Wedding Anniversary (4 lovely years of  unity)

I can't help to stop dreaming when I saw this perfect wedding anniversary gifts by year. Can't take my eyes off the lovely bouquet of flowers....

Aluminum Wedding anniversary (10 awesome years of successful partnership)

Silver Wedding Anniversay (25 wonderful years of being together)

I am sure, after 25 years, bouquet of flowers would still be a perfect gift for wedding anniversary, it had been centuries ago. Rey would be the sweetest husband to hand me those lovely flowers.

I wonder how the three of us would look like after 25 years and how many more siblings will be on the picture.

Starbucks Planner 2011

I got a really big surprise when I got home from work in the wee hours of Saturday morning.  A Starbucks 2011 Planner for me from my sweet husband.  Can't help not to take good pictures of it...

Isn't it nice?

I already have two starbucks planner, one for this year and one for next year.  Just 2 weeks ago, I told Rey that we will not push thru collecting stickers for the planner due to budget constraints.  I can go and find a planner from National Bookstore and pick the best design that I can get without costing me almost Php2000.  So, I wasn't really expecting this one for next year, how he managed to get that, I haven't asked him yet.  I will let you know when I do.

Yahoo Account Service Part 2

Do you remember my earlier post about spam emails on my yahoo account here.  I checked my spam folder today and I received exact same email asking for my yahoo account details, but this time it came from Service@att.net.

Be warned, never give in to such unsolited emails.

Our Christmas Tree

Look at how happy and excited we were, we took pictures with Gab in front of our newly installed Christmas tree. We put it up last Monday. Rey is on a holiday and he keeps on begging me to put up our fish tank. I just can't say yes to him because I am worried that Gab might just hit it with anything and breaks it. He is now 19 months and sometimes very uncooperative. Therefore, I had to give in to Rey when he insisted that we set up our christmas tree. Remember, how I planned setting up the christmas tree after All Saint's Day, here. I was really undecided because Gab may not cooperate with us when we tell him not too play with it.

And because of me saying yes to Rey, he owe me flowers next Valentine's Day. I'm excited about it, can't keep it a secret. Last time he gave me was during our first year wedding anniversary.
