Why should I envy those who will be on holiday off?
Today the most of the working class of the Philippines is on a holiday vacation, a lovely 3 day weekend for them including my husband, Rey. But why should I envy those who will not go to work today. I have good reasons not to and I will count them all for you.
Since Gab was at the office, he played with some of my officemates, had a good picture in front of our huge christmas tree and got tired of watching the fish on our indoor fishpond.
- my shift is at 4pm, i had all the time in the day to be with my family already and finish what needs to be done in the day
- there are less vehicles on the road, its nice to travel
- i can be on a Friday dressdown at work, were allowed to wear our sneakers and jeans during holiday.
- i am paid 200% of my daily rate
- and MOST OF ALL, my son and hubby will drive me to the office.

Reminiscing my school days....
Reminiscing my school days is fun. Just recently my college friends were talking about having a reunion. We've finished college ten years ago and I truly agree its time for us to be together again, at least for a night's event and get the feeling of being college students again. I wonder if an overnight gimmick would be enough to talk about all we've missed with each other.
I can imagine all of us not being able to let someone finish a story before actually starting her's for everyone to listen. It will be a fun-organized-chaos. We came from an all girls school, so if you can imagine how girls can be very noisy and excited when they flock together, you will know how its going to be for all of us.
School days are fun, but now I can't imagine myself going back to school. Since I had my baby gab, I can never entertain the thought of enrolling again to continue my master's study. I can never get a pocket book for myself to read what more of a two or three inch thick full text book to read and digest. I don't even know how to review anymore and prepare for an exam. I would rather read tanning lotion reviews in the internet than to review and prepare for my exam.
I think its all because I enjoy the company of my baby boy who's a year and a half now. That is why I cannot entertain the idea of going back to school. You haven't asked I was enrolled in my master's study when I got pregnant. I had convinced Rey to get me enrolled and he really scolded me when I got lazy going to school every Saturday, we didn't know yet I was already pregnant then.

Charice on Macy's Thanksgiving...repost
Charice Pempengco is making waves again on YouTube again. Just a week after her guest appearance on Good Morning America with mentor David Foster, she was again on television singing 'Because You Loved Me'. This time, however, she wasn't in the studio as she performed outside, on a float on Macy's 2008 Thanksgiving Day Parade! Yup, our very own Charice Pempengco was part of this year's Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade riding Good Housekeeping's showboat float. And the theme was quite appropriate for her as she delivered another showstopper of a performance.

nice gift....
Expensive mugs are not very attractive to me even if having one is as important as a smartcard for a call center person like me. If I can use something that is not as expensive as a starbucks mug, i'm ok with it.
Anyway, I'll leave the mug in my station when I leave work and if someone steal my ordinary mug, i can just grab another one that will cost me about Php50 in DV or a Php100 at the bargain in SM.
Until my 31st birthday came, my loving husband gave me a mug as a birtday present. This is the only expensive mug I got all my life. Isn't a starbucks mug like this one lovely? Maybe he thought that all call center people should have at least one piece of starbucks mug and yet I never had one.
Since I brought the mug in the office, I made it a routine to keep it in my locker, I'm gonna kill who will steal this, GRRR! Thank you so much hubby for this lovely present for my birthday last month, promise to take good care of this.

Blogging Help Tips
When I started blogging to earn extra, I did not know anything about it. I don't know anyone personally who does blog. Maybe they do, but I am not aware. All I know is there are people who makes money online.
I started doing PTC's (paid to click) but not for so long because I was not able to recruit referrals which will help me to earn more. I am aware of Google Adsense but I don't know how it works, thank God, I have two officemates who have adsense account and they were able to help me on it. Thanks Dea and Chel. Later on, I learned that they also blog out of hobby.
Another good read that I will highly recommend is the blog of Marghil Macuha, I read a lot of good advise from his blog regarding SEO. If you are really new to blogging you must do directory submission to have your blog indexed at different search engines such as Yahoo, Google and the likes. Nothing to worry about this is FREE.

Need You Now | Lady Antelellum
....here is my new favorite song!
Picture perfect memories
Scattered all around the floor.
Reaching for the phone cause, I can’t fight it any more.
And I wonder if I ever cross your mind.
For me it happens all the time.
It’s a quarter after one, I’m all alone and I need you now.
Said I wouldn’t call but I lost all control and I need you now.
And I don’t know how I can do without, I just need you now.
Another shot of whiskey, can’t stop looking at the door.
Wishing you’d come sweeping in the way you did before.
And I wonder if I ever cross your mind.
For me it happens all the time.
It’s a quarter after one, I’m a little drunk,
And I need you now.
Said I wouldn’t call but I lost all control and I need you now.
And I don’t know how I can do without, I just need you now.
Yes I’d rather hurt than feel nothing at all.
It’s a quarter after one, I’m all alone and I need you now.
And I said I wouldn’t call but I’m a little drunk and I need you now.
And I don’t know how I can do without, I just need you now.
I just need you now.
Oh baby I need you now.

Avon
It was not part of my "making money plans" to be a franchise dealer, especially of Avon. Firstly, I am not into make-ups or any avon products aside from the occassional purchases of brasserie in some of my mall hopping. Secondly, I am not a business minded person.
I am not very particular with using only one intimate apparels or beauty products, my cousin Lea is an impulsive buyer and most of what she buys are those she does not really her type, therefore, I enjoy brand new, unused, hand-me-downs of good quality and brands from her. Because of that, I really do not have any need to register myself with Avon even for personal use.
But now is a different story. Since we opened a variety store in Imus, my attendant encouraged me to be a dealer due to a number of demand from her from her friends at the store. And so I did, I was lucky to have a officemate who mother is a franchise dealer of Avon, I was accomodated very well when I registered in Avon Makati.
Now I enjoy the discounts and the products. I supply Avon to colleagues and best of all, after joining Avon in September I now have Php 10,000.00 credit limit. I owe all this to my good customer's who does not disappoint me with their payments, love them all.
If its God's will, I hope to have my own Avon Outlet in the future. My franchise dealer, Tita Nimfa Espedillion, told me it would be easy as long as I have a good credit line.
So that is my Avon Story in Making Money Online. I'd like to share this blessing to anyone who would like to be a Franchise Dealer like me. Anyone who wish to register in Avon thru me, I will be awarding Php 500 worth of Avon Product upon your registration. This is on top of whatever award Avon will give you as a new recruit.
Contact me thru email to set an appointment or ask query .

workload, sigh!!!
This is what helloed to me when I arrived in the office! Yesterday, I only had one monitor in my office table but today, I am using two! This means more work for me to come, more assigned task, a lot of surprises and changes to come in the office.
I think I just have to accept it and look at the lighter side. Yes, its more workload, work that would literally not fit into one pc monitor only, nothing will change aside from that. I guess I just have to think of it as having more monitor to surf the web when I'm free to, hehe.
Things will just get harder to accept if I will not think of the positive impact, at least with two monitors, I could have two pictures of Gab to look at when my PC is not doing anything.

Charice Music Industry 101: A&R – Where It All Begins..reposting
First of all, thank you for all your comments on last week’s article, ‘How Record Labels Operate‘. Yes, it’s true. We can only give you a general crash course on record labels and their ways. The industry itself is infamous for its complexity, so to delve into its depths through more comprehensive articles would probably leave us all hairless!
Record Labels Revealed: A&R – Where It All Begins
This week, we focus on what is the most important record label department of them all, A&R. It would be difficult to exaggerate the significance that A&R has in the industry, since it is with them that the whole industrial process – from artist discovery right through to music legend – begins. Madonna might have remained in obscurity if she hadn’t been signed by Michael Rosenblatt, the Sire Records A&R man who also signed Depeche Mode; Mariah Carey might have continued as a backing singer if it hadn’t been for Tommy Mottola, who also signed Jessica Simpson to Columbia Records.
In October, 1982, music executive Michael Rosenblatt of Sire Records signs Madonna to a one-off deal to record Everybody as a dance single.
A&R is the shortened version of the far more cultured sounding ‘Artists and Repertoire’, but when it comes to the realities of the business, it’s basically the department that signs and nurtures new signings. It’s referred to as ‘The Gatekeeper’ as it is only through A&R that musicians can make it into the music industry. As you can imagine then, A&R personnel attract most of the executive spotlight. They are highly sought after by ambitious hopefuls, loved by those who are accepted and hated by those who are rejected. Make no mistake about it, the pressure on A&R personnel is massive, and the popular notion that their lives are a haze of wild parties and crazy rock concerts is actually very different from the truth.
An A&R executive is employed to find new talent, so a record label expects a fresh supply of new marketable acts from them. The search entails a lot of time listening to demo recordings submitted either by colleagues, friends, associates or directly from bands and artists, as well as traveling to gigs in all kinds of small towns and out-of-the-way places. Once upon a time, an A&R executive would have been regularly swamped by hundreds of unsolicited demo tapes each week. These days, unsolicited submissions are no longer accepted (for legal reasons mainly) but executives still deal with hundreds of demos. In the modern era, they also keep a close eye on the internet – the reason why, Charice, for one, can tell you all about.
When a signing is made, the A&R department sets about getting all of the other departments working together on a plan to develop the artist’s career. The entire weight of the label’s resources row in behind the new ’star’ to promote, develop and publicize them, in the hope of creating a new marketing phenomenon. The idea is to get their story in every magazine, their face on every TV channel and their music on every radio station.
It all seems great, but the problem is that, once an executive has signed a new band or artist, he is responsible for that artist’s career direction, and their fates are often tied together. While talent is an integral part of success, it is not a guarantee. As one of the industry’s biggest A&R men, Columbia Record’s Tim Devine, once pointed out: “When the history of the music business is written, there are always big chapters on Dylan, Hendrix, Springsteen, Bowie, Sly Stone, Kurt Cobain, etc. An A&R person would give their eye teeth to discover just one of them. However, ‘new and different’ doesn’t necessarily mean ‘good and marketable’.”
So, if the signing fails to make the impact that was expected, then the executive’s career can fall as flat as the band or artist he signed.
It means that A&R is where the action is. The drama, the glamor, the success, the failures: everything that is human about the music industry is handled by the A&R department, while the mechanics and finances are handled elsewhere.
Next week, we’ll continue this series with a look at the business end of the music industry spectrum. If you want to know how a record label actually makes money from their stable of stars, or how a band or artist gets their first record out, then check it out right here.

Madonna’s First Single
In 1978, Madonna relocated to New York to pursue her dreams. She said of her move to New York, “It was the first time I’d ever taken a plane, the first time I’d ever gotten a taxi cab. I came here with $35 in my pocket. It was the bravest thing I’d ever done.”

Pacquiao vs
Pacquiao's latest fight with Margarito that happened earlier today has made all Filipino's proud once again. Millions of fans of Pacquiao are again happy for the glory and fame brought by the boxing world.
I am not very much into watching of Pacquiao's boxing matches but since I got married I seldomly find an escape to watch him. Boy's are always into watching his matches, no matter what. Just earlier, we were in Antipolo to join Rey's family to watch the event over at Kuya Roger's place (that's Rey's eldest). Rey never had a second thought of driving all the way from Cavite to Antipolo just to watch the match live from Cowboy Stadium.
Anyway, Gab had a nice time playing with his cousins!!!

Dreaming....
I didn't thought that I would love to think of furnishing our house in Laguna. I believed that as long as I have my own house, I will be happy enough and contented with what I have. But I know I am sometimes dreamy. I previously blogged about the faucets that I would love to install in my kitchen and restroom, here. And now, as I am browsing to kill time, I came across this lovely floor register, I think I fell in love with the one that is made out of solid brass.
I know I am being impossible with this one. No one uses floor register here in the country due to our tropical weather. I wonder if houses in Baguio City have this. If I'd have a house in Europe, crossing my fingers, I will buy the best floor register they sell. I got a good website where I found beautiful and lovely floor register here.

How time flies...
Time flies, really fast! Its doesn't seem that I had been pregnant two christmas ago. I missed already being pregnant, not that I would like to have another child, I don't think I'm ready yet. But I love all the pampering I get when I was still pregnant, its like everyone looks after you, and everyone, even strangers are ready to give a hand.
You won't really believe it, if I tell you that this was the baby I was having back in 2009.
At this stage, it pains me to leave the house. It's not nice to hear him crying behind the screened door begging me not to leave him with his nanny. I know exactly how Rey feels when he goes to work every morning. If there just some kind of sleeping aids that we can use to make him fall asleep just before we leave home to go to work...

BPI Express Online, my love bank!
The very first payroll account I had is from BPI, that was way way back in 1999 when I was working as a part time marketing assistant for Wendy's Hamburgers Phil.
As years go by, I had jobs from different companies in the country and still nothing beats the convenience I am experiencing with BPI. I pay my bills online or thru phone using my BPI account, of course I had it enrolled with Phone and Internet Banking.
I just feels sad that soon, I will not have any regular transaction with my BPI account because our tenants in Laguna will soon vacant our place, and that means no one will deposit payment on my bank account every end of the month.
But just last night, I thought of saving ten peso coins starting today and then deposit it to my BPI account, isn't it a smart idea. I really hope I can keep my promise to save every Php10 coin that I will get. I'll have Rey help me on this new project of mine.
Excuse me, i'll just phone him quick....

GleeCap: “Never Been Kissed” Episode 6, Season 2... a repost
Obviously, it’s not Sunshine Corazon who has never been kissed in Glee’s episode the other night. Numerous speculations on Glee’s episode six flooded the web a few weeks ago. Everything from Puck’s, Coach Beiste’s and Sunshine’s return to Kurt’s new love interest in the show were discussed in forums and blogs everywhere. And a lot of those “inside scoops” were proven to be plain old rumors last night.
The previous rumor of a spin-the-bottle drama was also not true. A kiss between Kurt and Blaine was also not in the episode six. And the most heartbreaking rumor that was proven wrong is Charice a.k.a. Sunshine Corazon’s comeback on the show. Even without Charice to belt out heartfelt ballads, Glee’s episode six of season two was definitely watchable. It was fun and warm but also socially-aware and delivered a strong message about physical appearance, bullying and sexuality.
A Quick Recap
Much of the episode focused on three storylines: that of Coach Beiste, Puck and Artie, and Kurt.
Coach Beiste is used by Sam as a way to cool down when making out with Quinn. He then told Mike and Tina about his method. Once, Sam blurted out Beiste’s name instead of Quinn’s while they were making out. And in another scene, Tina also blurts out Beiste’s name instead of Mike’s. Quinn got angry and confronted Sam publicly. Beiste manages to catch a part of the argument. She wonders why she’s involved in the students’ quarrel. Then Mike shouts at Beiste to stay away from his girl. Beiste is really puzzled and asks help from Will Schuster.
Kurt, on the other hand, seems to have reached the end of his tolerance for Dave’s bullying just because he’s gay; and add to that the fact that Will puts him on the boys’ team in the glee club’s annual boys versus girl challenge. He heads off to spy on Dalton Academy’s glee club, The Warblers. There he meets Blaine, a member of the Warblers, who brings him to watch their performance of Katy Perry’s “Teenage Dream”. Kurt is surprised to find out that glee members here are considered rockstars and that out-of-the-closet gay people like Blaine are not bullied. Blaine advises Kurt to stand-up to whoever is bullying him. When Kurt returns to McKinley High, Dave slams him against some lockers. Kurt then follows Dave and confronts him inside the locker room. Instead of getting punched, Kurt gets kissed by Dave. He realizes that Dave is also going through some problems. He then asks for Blaine’s help in talking to Dave. But Dave just slams Blaine against the fence before storming off.
Puck is now back from juvenile detention and is instead, just doing community work. He tells Artie that his officer allowed him to help a cripple (Artie) as a substitute to picking up trash. The two then earns about three hundred dollars just from singing illegally “One Love” and “People Get Ready” outside the school cafeteria. Artie then steals a glimpse of Brittany which Puck notices. He tells him that they are going to Styx for a double-date with Santana and Brittany. Puck plans on doing his usual dine and dash routine, but Artie still pays for their dinner, which made Puck really angry. The next day, Puck gets called into the principal office. He is told that helping Artie is not counted as community service. He gets really angry and storms out of the office after shouting that nobody actually cares about him. After that, Artie tries to help Puck and tells him he’ll tutor him in geometry and accompany him when he’s picking up trash. It looks like it’s a start of a new friendship between the two.
Near the end of the episode, after the girls’ team wonderful performance of “Living on a Prayer” and “Start Me Up”; Will finds out that Coach Beiste has quit after he revealed the reason behind the students’ attitude towards her. Will then find Beaste packing her things and tries to convince her to stay. Beaste reveals that she was really hurt and that at age 40, she has never been kissed. Will gives her a friendly kiss on the lips and tells her that the boys have prepared a song number as a way to say sorry to her. In the New Direction’s classroom, the boys apologize to Coach Beiste and proceed to do an amazing number of “Stop in the Name of Love” and “Free Your Mind”. The episode ends with the boys group-hugging Coach Beiste.

Batibot back on air!
Batibot will now be back on air. This will soon be shown in TV5 soon.
My son always watches the cartoons shows at TV5 in the morning, this is our favorite bonding time. To my surprise, he gives a very unique reaction everytime the tune of Batibot is being aired. My son does not know what Batibot is yet, but I think he feels that its something for a child like him. He would immediately stand up and dance to the tune of Batibot even if will be played only for a few seconds.
I can't wait to see Batibot again, its one of my favorite show as well when I was a kid and it just feels good that its still being aired up to now.

Charice: Sunshine Corazon’s Next Song: How Will the Sun Shine Again?
Charice, who plays Sunshine Corazon, the GLEE Filipina foreign exchange student, trended worldwide on twitter right after the first episode aired. Since then, everybody looked forward to the next episode in the hope of seeing yet another mind-blowing performance from “The Most Talented Girl in the World”. We waited another week and tuned in to the next episode…
…But she didn’t show up at all! Then came episodes three, four and five, and Charice still wasn’t there.
Where was she?!
While Gleeks and Chasters were tearing their hair out of agony and frustration, Charice was busy during the past few weeks because she performed as part of the David Foster and Friends Asian Tour. They had concerts in Tokyo, Manila, Bangkok, Jakarta and Singapore. After the Sushi Saga, Charice had a short break from work. As of press time, she has flown back to the US for holiday gigs and also to resume tapings for Glee.

Going Home
It feels good to think that we are going home to our place in Laguna by next year. We've visited the place yesterday to let our tenants know of our plan. Thankfully, they agreed to just consume their remaining rental fee at the place.
Once we moved, I will only think of few things to spend to, I can cross out the monthly rental fee that we spend here are our current place in Cavite. I am also thinking of another thing to cross out of our miscellaneous list, that is if I can put up an electric pump for our water supply. Water supply in our subdivision is much expensive compared to Maynilad that is for public use. If I am rich enough, I'll have commercial pumps instead and convince our neighbors to tap their water connection to us. I won't charge them as much as expensive as they are currently paying, only just enough to cover the electric usage and a small amount to maintain the pump. Is it going to be a great help?

Charice, Jim Beanz New Dance Song
Just days before the David Foster & Friends tour kickoff, Charice recorded a new song with renowned music producer, Jim Beanz.
News of Charice’s new dance single first broke out in a press conference in Thailand last July 23, 2010. After being asked about her second single, Charice said that it would not be from her self-titled album, “Charice” since they’re looking for something faster and more dance than “Pyramid.” “Something like Lady Gaga,” Charice further explained. This could be in the right direction since “Pyramid” actually snagged the number one spot on the Billboard dance chart.
Charice then revealed through Twitter, last October 9, that she’s already working on this new mysterious dance song. She tweeted, “Hello everyone. Please follow mah boy @DaRealJimBeanz now! He’s amazing. Watta great song we just did!!!! ”
And with producer Jim Beanz, no less! He has produced songs for and worked with some of the biggest names in the pop and RnB music scene. Britney Spears, Nelly Furtado, Tmbaland, Danity Kane, Justin Timberlake and P. Diddy. Beanz also tweeted about his work with Charice, “WASSUP YALL… STILL WORKIN ON THIS RECORD FOR @OfficialCharice … STRICTLY FOR DA CLUBS… LETS GOOOOOOO…!!!”
Some Charice fans might find this new dance song a bit different from the powerhouse ballads Charice usually does. But even in “Pyramid,” her vocals were never hidden by the fast beat of the song. And this could actually further help Charice in penetrating the mainstream or younger music field. Coupled with Glee, this might just be the perfect way to do that.
Do you agree with the path into dance songs that Charice is taking? Do you want her to stick to ballads? Or are you happy whatever Charice does as long as the songs highlight her fantastic, powerful voice? Say what you think! Just leave a comment below.

Cigars, No Thanks!
I am lucky I did not liked cigars even I was exposed to it at a very young age. I remember I have mentioned it already that I was raised by my dear grandmother. It was just my grandmother and me in the province because all of her siblings were already in Manila to make a living.
My grandmother and I do gold panning, its just the small time, it only makes us tired and to have almost enought food in the table but not rich. We do it by the river and since I was just a small kid my grandmother wont let me stay in the water, I was just there watching her and when she needs a cigar, she will let me light one, back then prefers the "La Campana" brand. Something that is just available in our province, I did not see any of that here in the city. Those were the days, when I was already attending school, my Aunts and Uncles persuaded my grandmother to stay in Manila, that means the two of us will have to travel from Bicol to Manila and stay for good.
During my third grade in elementary, my grandmother had a bad cough, I don't know if it was what we call TB but she needs to go the doctor almost everyday for a shot of medicine, I just can't remember how long that was. If there is one thing I really want to be proud about my grandmother and her smoking, its that she was able STOP it right there and then when her doctor told her to stop.

Charice, Mariah, Susan Boyle, Kylie on November NBC Christmas Special
Another repost from here.
Charice will be part of a superstar line-up that will perform in the 13th “Christmas in Rockefeller Center” Special.
“The star-studded holiday special will feature performances by … (these artists)… with a mix of current hits and holiday classics,” the statement said.
As per NBC’s statement, a powerhouse ensemble will be there in the event, including:
◦Grammy winner Mariah Carey is considered as the most successful recording artist of all time, with more than 60 million albums sold.
◦ Sheryl Crow has nine Grammy awards on her belt and has just released a new album with the title “100 Miles from Memphis”.
◦ Josh Groban is known for his excellent vocal quality and for fusing pop with classical influences. In case you don’t know him, Groban jokingly said, “I am Joe Jonas to your mothers.”
◦ Jessica Simpson has developed from a full time recording artist into a full-fledged philanthropist, after helping an orphanage and also as Operation Smile’s International Youth Ambassador.
◦ Susan Boyle is a testament to the saying that one should not judge a book by its cover. She joined the UK talent show, “Britain’s Got Talent”, showing other people that there’s a lot more to her than meets the eye.
◦Annie Lennox , formerly of the band “Eurythmics”, is the most successful British female in pop history. She has won ten Grammy awards including the 1993 Album of the Year for her compilation, “Diva”.
◦ Katherine Jenkins has received multiple multi-platinum awards, and is known for her specialty – opera and classical music. However, she wants to show her versatility after releasing US debut Album, “Believe”, produced by 15-time Grammy winner David Foster.
◦ Kylie Minogue is one of the most enduring figures in the world of music. Having started in the 1980’s with the hit remake “Locomotion”, she continues to churn out hit after hit, with “All the Lovers”, released in 2010.
◦ Jackie Evancho is a rising young star who was first recognized in Youtube, and later via the talent show, “America’s Got Talent”. Her angelic voice has wowed not only America, but also the rest of the planet.
Hosted by NBC’s Natalie Morales and Al Roker, the said event will celebrate the lighting of the Rockefeller Center’s world-famous Christmas tree.
“The 78th annual holiday extravaganza will feature a tree that is 74 feet high, 40 feet in diameter and weighs a whopping 12 tons,” it added.
NBC will air the event live on Tuesday, November 30th at 8:00 PM to 9:00 PM eastern. WNBC and other affiliate stations nationwide will also broadcast an additional live hour of the event from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM.

Last December, teen singing sensation Charice thanked her fan base Chasters after she edged global singing stars in the ‘Best Oprah Show Musical Performace’ award. Charice beat Whitney Houston, James Taylor, Michael Bublé, Journey, and the Black Eyed Peas in the online poll on Oprah.com, receiving 70% of the votes for her ‘Note to God’ performance. The Black Eyed Peas received only 9% of the votes. They clearly do not have an Internet Army like Charice does.
J-14 Magazine is the #1 teen celebrity magazine and our Charice is pictured in the December issue several times. The December issue is now available so make sure to get your copy today! The winners of all of the J-14 Teen Icon 2010 Awards are featured, including Charice, the Icon of Tomorrow! Glee, which features our Charice as Sunshine Corazon, won as Iconic TV Show. There is also a feature on the College Class of 2010 which asks the young stars what they would be doing if they were actually attending their freshman year of college right now. The magazine states that Charice is taking online classes working towards her bachelor’s degree in communications. Charice is also featured in the piece “14 Seconds With the Stars” where they were asked to name the best gift they have ever given. Charice replied with, “I gave a laptop to the fan who first posted my videos on YouTube.”
There is only one more outstanding favor we had asked of you and that was to vote to win Charice an official spot as a top five nominee for the 2011 People’s Choice Awards as Breakout Music Artist of the Year. We also asked you to vote for her in other categories – Favorite Pop Artist, Female Artist, Web Celeb, and Favorite Song (Pyramid). Voting has ended so all we can do is wait. The official nominees in all categories will be named on November 9th. We will find out then if the Charice Internet Army can maintain their perfect voting record. Let’s hope so!
The Votes are in…Charice is J-14 Magazine’s Icon of Tomorrow!

Charice "Sings Like Angels"
Claudine Grant of Fox5 interviewed Charice, the 18 year old singing sensation who was discovered by Canadian music mogul, David Foster, and Oprah Winfrey, before her performance with David Foster and friends in Mandalay Bay on October 15, 2010. Ms. Grant questioned Charice about her career, her part on the hit show, Glee, and rumored Botox injection. On stage, Charice is a little girl with a commanding presence and booming voice. Off stage, Charice is a little girl who is sweet, charming and modest. Two very different personas but still the same Charice we have all come to love.
“This lady has taken the music world by storm, giving Celine Dion, Mariah Carey and all the big names a run for their money,” Ms. Grant started by saying as a modest Charice stood by giggling shyly. “I’m telling you,” continued Grant, “this is Charice and when this woman sings, she sings like angels.” At this point she turns to Charice, who is still giggling modestly and says, “You are amazing, Charice.”
Our sweet, charming Charice answers with, “Thank you. I don’t know what to say but thank you.” And what does one say to such a mighty compliment, one that she has heard many times before and one that she continues to prove true?
The interview continues with Grant asking Charice what it is like to be billed in such a star-studded event, to which Charice replies, “It’s really an honor, you know? Being part of this big concert is like always new to me, I feel real excited, I feel really blessed, you know, that’s why… it’s such a blessing working with David Foster, he’s a really nice person.”
Foster and Charice have been working together for three years now and he speaks very highly of Charice. He was once quoted as saying that “with Charice instructions need only be said once and she gets it precisely and accurately, just like a laser beam.”
When asked about her role on the hit show, Glee, Charice admitted that Glee is the coolest thing that happened to her life. She says it is a perfect show for her and her role as “Sunshine Corazon” is so Charice.
Claudine Grant takes the interview in a slightly new direction when she questions Charice about the rumor that she had Botox injections before she began performing on Glee. To these accusations Charice responds, “No, that is so ridiculous. I mean when I found out that news I was like I don’t need Botox. First of all, I am young. Second, I love my face. It’s God’s gift and I’m not gonna change it.”
Speaking of God’s gifts, besides her face, God blessed Charice with another gift, and that is her voice! At this point Grant asks Charice if she would be putting her on the spot by asking her to sing. Without skipping a beat Charice answers not at all and asks what Grant would like her to sing. Charice loves to sing any chance she gets! Grant could not come up with a request so Charice broke out into a verse of All By Myself, which according to Celine Dion herself, is a ridiculously hard song to sing. Not for our Charice! She sang the verse angelically, giving Ms. Grant goosebumps.
When asked what Charice wanted to say to Fox5 viewers to close out the interview, Ms. Grant could not have said it any better herself, “Thank you for watching.”

Boljoon: "Run to Restore" Reposting for Market Manila
Below is a repost from Marketman of Market Manila. Let us help him help Ronald Villanueva for this fund raising activity.
Some of you may recall I visited and wrote about the Boljoon Church in Southern Cebu a while back, here. The church is wonderful but in need of serious restoration; I understand the townsfolk of Boljoon have really taken on that herculean task. Several efforts to raise funds and interest in the restoration project have been undertaken, but as with all monumental tasks, even more resources are needed. I realize this is a bit of a geographically specific public announcement, but just this quick post to let runners in Cebu know that there will be a Boljoon “Run to Restore” 3k, 5k and 10k run held in Boljoon, Cebu on November 7, 2010. With assembly time pre-dawn at 5a.m. I understand half of the race is UPHILL and passing several hertigage sights, so this isn’t for the faint of heart. But definitely a worthy endeavor and I wish them much success (getting Marketman to run a kilometer with bad carotids would probably be considered a minor miracle).
