Happy Father's Day Mahal

Fathers day is just around the corner and I just want to be the first to greet my dearest husband, Rey.

To share a bit of a background about fathers day, here's what I found online:
"Father's Day in the United States is on the third Sunday of June. It celebrates the contribution that fathers and father figures make for their children's lives. Its origins may lie in a memorial service held for a large group of men, many of them fathers, who were killed in a mining accident in Monongah, West Virginia in 1907. "  Click here for the source.
Happy Father's Day, Mahal. Gab and me loves you so much!!!

Happy Birthday Dearest Lola

Today is my dearest Lola's 85th birthday!

We all feel thankful and blessed after my Lola survived her major left hip surgery last 25th May.  This was due to the bad fall she had while we were on vacation in Bicol.

My Lola is a great survivor.  If you had known her personally and you were able to hear her stories how she brought up  all her children alone after Lolo had passed away, you will see how magnificent she was. By the way, I am included to whom she brought up, I was already with her since I was four months old.  And now, she is as strong as she was before the operation, just that she needs to start to learn how to walk again.

This was taken the next morning after my Lola's major operation.  She's still feels heavy with her anesthesia but was able to smile and look straight to the camera.
We were all at Tita Rose's house last Sunday for my Lola's birthday celebration. I am guilty for not being able to take any picture.  My kept on giving me errands left and right.

Ageloc Vitality

I have been a regular visitor of Chinese Gen Hospital since my Lola got admitted on Tuesday last week.  I have seen how people gets tired in a day full of work and I have thankful I have Ageloc Vitality to keep me going after the longest day at the hospital and at work.  Imagine I go to the hospital at around 7am, goes to work at around 2pm and finally get home at about 1am.

Ever heard of extenze side effects?  I overheard this to one of the doctor at the hospital and I promise to myself to make a quick research on this.  Don't worry, will keep you posted on this one.

Lola, Strong at 86!

My grandmother is a strong fighter at 86.

Our recent trip to Bicol last week thought us immeasurable learnings and great challenge.  Inay fell to the ground accidentally while we were running errands for her to the other town. She stepped to a big stone holding our screen door not to close and out balanced herself.  That happened on Friday afternoon after we had our feast in the morning for the "Santa Cruz de Mayo".

On Saturday, we brought Lola to her local physician and she was given pain reliever her painful hip and legs.  We all thought everything is getting back to normal because of the pain reliever given to her.   We were on the road going back to Manila on Sunday afternoon. Lola is at Tita Rose's place the whole Monday but kept complaining with the growing pain.

Finally she was convinced to visit a doctor here in Manila but we decided to have her confined while on recovery.  Lola was admitted to Chinese General Hospital on Tuesday.  Her doctor immediately performed operation for her left fractured hip on Wednesday.

As I write this article, I am beside my strong Lola who is fastly recovering from the surgical operation.  She is now back to her normal habit of giving left and right errands to us or who ever is near her except that she still cannot move her left leg that was wounded because of the operation.

My Uncle in Saudi would like to see pictures of my Lola during her stay in the hospital I will also send him direct mail postcards when I send him the photos.  Tomorrow, I will make sure I find time to do it.

Cellphone Cases

Who does not have a cellphone?  Would you say that cellphones are one of the most disruptive technology in this era.  About ten years ago, everyone is happy having a phone line at home but now everyone gets different kind of cellphones to use.

I have a two year old son and he already knows how to play pretend using my cellphone or Rey's cellphone.  I wonder if by age three or four, he would ask for a cellphone unit as soon as he 's able to recognize the alphabet.

These iphone 3gs cases are nice to have phone accessorries.  It will be lovely if I can grab one, I wonder if there is one that will fit my E72 nokia model phone.

Feeling the Love

Becoming a mommy has been a very rewarding experience for me simply because Gab is such a joy to take care of. Mother’s Day has been celebrated recently, and as my boys showed me some appreciation, I realized how hard it is being a wife and mommy and managing our household while maintaining a full time job, all at the same time!

Mother’s day morning I was greeted by Rey and Gab with this huge bouquet of flower and I so love being treated like a queen. Being appreciated is the best-est! My gift was so pretty like those online floral arrangements that I see while surfing during my free time. With boys like mine, I feel that every day is Mother’s Day!

To all mommies out there, we rule because we are the ones that rock the cradle!

D GOLDEN TRUMPET FOUNDATION

Share your LOVE,
Share your GIFT,
Mission for a CAUSE....

Have you heard of D GOLDEN TRUMPET FOUNDATION, INC?  I suppose not, but if you take a Leveriza bound bus coming from Baclaran, there is a small chance you've heard of this but never paid attention.

Believe it or not, I am not in belief of sudo-preachers that come up to buses and gives bible lecture and challenge your conscience and after a while you will realize they are extorting money from bus passengers.  I say its extortion because of the fact that they ask money and if you do not give anything, they will attack your conscience just to make you give in.  Be it a man or a woman doing this kind of  job, they are all the same to me, I still don't give anything, not a single centavo.

But two, three weeks ago, there was one guy who came up the bus I am riding going to work.  This guy has a different approach. Compared to all other sudo-preachers that tried to extort me unsuccessfully, this young man, has a different approach.  If I can remember it right, he was smiling when he came up the bus.  I know I have a very vague memory of it because I really tried not to pay attention at the start because I know what he is up to.  He greated everyone in the bus, introduced himself and the organization he is representing.

The foundation he is representing is just located nearby where we were at that time. Its is a very young foundation, I bet not even a year old. This young guy, did not use any verse from the bible to start with, but he was trying to make a point how lucky were all the people inside the bus.  Maybe, he wants us to feel thankful about what we all have and slowly trying to manipulate our imagination to see how hard would it be to live without anything like their recipients in their foundation.

A bit later on, he was distributing, new and unused envelopes to all the passengers and wishing us all well.  This is the only solicitation envelopes given at buses with SEC Registration of the organization and the address where it is located.  Most of all, it does not have any bible verse  on any part of the envelope.

I was convinced to donate a humble amount to the foundation and would you believe that I even asked for another empty envelope from the guy because I want to read what is written on it again. I bet most people donated to the foundation with a happy heart.  What is so different is that the guy did not give anything to the driver when he got off the bus not also when he came up.  Yes, believe you me, all other solicitors who come up to buses give a certain amount to the drivers. One of the amount I observed was a hundred pesos.  The driver took it with out hesitation and put it on his chest pocket.  The foundation that convinced me did not give any amount to the driver but a sincere Thank You. He was even smiling when he was out of the bus waving to the bus passengers and saying thank you.

Anyway, I was happy to know that our nanny is trying to renew her postal ID.  Rey and I thought of enrolling our nanny to SSS.  I think what we can best give her is to secure social security benefits for her future.  She is a single mom and her family is not well off.  After she's done in taking care of Gab, and even Rey when he was small, she deserves to have at least SSS benefits when she reach her 60's.

Security is Optional

Deciding wether you want to be secure or not should not be difficult.  No one wants to live an unsecure life, not even your pet dog.

When Rey and I are newly wed, I convinced him that we get a trust fund even for a small amount.  We decided to take the offer of Family First, Inc.  This may sound really familiar because of the numbers of complaints we heard about them or saw on tv and prints.  I am one of the very few people who would say its is not a scam because I used to work for them.  Possibly, its the marketing style they have that is why many people did not like it. But if you are an open minded individual and is willing to look at what it offers, you will be able to see that it is legit.

The reason why I am writing about this is because of the life insurance quote that I came accross online.  I'd like to share this with you and hopefully if will help you have a more secure future.  Getting an insurance is not wasting your money, provided that you will choose a good company.

Rey and I have been paying the policy we got for five years now, and it two years time we will be finish.  Waiting for the maturity date is not very long. The only thing I am regretting right now is we did not get a higher premium.  Nevertheless, we have a savings and we will soon get our money and invest it to another something else, hopefully.

Royal Wedding: Honeymoon Location

I find it so sweet for Prince Charles to suprise the Duchess of Cambridge about the Royal Honeymoon.  Though the schedule of the Prince is very hectic due to the service he needs to render for his State he still finds time to organise a secret honeymoon for Kate.  Of course the Prince considered the type of honeymoon Kate would like to have.

Possible activities are horseback riding in South America, visiting Cairns in Queensland, go diving on the Great Barrier Reef. Other suggested destinations include Jordan, Mustique, Kenya and the Seychellesb

Did you know that confetti are not allowed in West Minister Abbey.  This is one request for all the guest not to do for the Royal Wedding "We don't encourage confetti. The Abbey is a place of worship, an institution. Weddings here are so few and far between they are regarded as a privilege, that don't require confetti all over the place. It is not really in keeping.", a spokeman of the institution said.

Gab's Visit to EK

Our original plan of celebrating Gab's 2nd birthday in Baguio was blown out.  Thanks God we have 4 ride-all-you-can tickets to EK.  We immediately pack our things after I cooked our spaghetti and we head on EK. My little boy enjoyed the ride that he got free, he was 35.5 inches in height and we were lucky because the lady who assisted us gave him a waiver for a free instance.  Kids at 36 inches pay to get into the park.

Up up and away!

This is the whole set of barkada, Tita Rose, Ate Ashley, Lola, Rey, me and Gab

Since food is not allowed inside the park, we had a quick snack in the parking lot. Food and drinks at the park are at the price of gold and that means less buying of food and avoiding my fenphedrine.

Sharing my secret on how to earn from blogging

This blog is now running for more than a year now.  As far as I can remember, I started this when my husband Rey gave me a laptop as  present two christmas' ago. Check out my very first post here, when I was saying Hello! to the world of blogging.

My effort and hard work did not fail me when I started to earn from this blog since my birthday last year.  I even made a post on my facebook account how much I had earn from this since October 2010 only.  You can check the status I had on 15th April from my facebook account here.

To show my gratitude, I would like to share one of my best practice that helped me earn from this blog.  This practice gave me the earnings really easy.  If you have a blog too and wants to earn a little visit this LINK to see.  If you are not yet blogging, this may interest you to start one now.

My little note on a Good Friday

This week is a short work week for me.  Our office ended the work week yesterday, Maundy Thursday.  Though there is still open O.T., like what my colleague Dea mentioned on her blog, I opted to stay home and spend the whole day with my family.

My son caught a slight fever  today, 38.3 on his thermometer.  I blame myself for not giving cough medicine when his colds start to turn into occasional coughing.  So just before 3pm strikes,  Rey and I made a quick visit to Mercury Drug to buy him Calpol and Ambrolex.   There was really no signs of fever before we had our routine bathing in the morning, but after we had our lunch and bought popsicle from the Magnolia bicycle roaming around the village, Gab starts to become feverish.  Should I blame it on the popsicle?

Though Gab is feverish and with cough and colds, he played the whole day today and even skipped his afternoon nap.  He helped a little when Rey cleaned his aquarium.    Funny thing was, he was really sleepy at around 6pm but he doesn't want to climb the bed.  Sshhh, he's already asleep now that's why I have plenty of time blogging.

Few minutes ago, I stumble upon this story about Edith Burns, its a very good story and worth reading.  I'd like to pay tribute to the story which you can read from here.  I'd say its a good read for the Lenten Season especially for the coming Easter Sunday.

Our office will resume on Tuesday, not Monday.  So my vacation is extended for one day. I planned to focus on looking for a good exposure to my part time Nu Skin business.  I came across this Siegel pop up booth and wonder how I can take advantage of this for my galvanic spa business.  But anyway, I will think about it next week, I am still in vacation mode now and my brain refuse to cooperate.

How much do you know about clean air

Pregnant women have very sensitive sense of smell.  Sometimes its absurd and if you're not kind enough to understand them you may find it very annoying or you make think that they take advantage because of their condition and is seeking for unreasonable attention.

But did you know that its not only sensitive pregnant women who can really be sensitive when it comes to odor.  Excess moisture can  cause unpleasant odor but not most of us are aware of this or give enough attention. Well, its not really hard to identify causes of this and it can be resolved easily too.

Allow me to enumate some sources of this depending on your own environment:
  • drainage system ( check if this causes basement moisture )
  • house plants
  • air conditioners ( check if its well-functioning )
  • domestic activities (any chance your backyard has stagnant water?)
  • faucet continously open
  • damp basement
You may also check symptoms below, most of these are easily noticed but not given attention:
  • rust
  • peeling paint
  • sweating pipe
  • chipping concrete
  • damp feeling within the home ( i hate this )
If think you have atleast two from the list above, you should be worry and start doing something.  Before you knew it, you're families health may suffer.

The Royal Wedding and Gab's Birthday

29th April is really an important date for me and my family and the whole UK.  It is Gab's birthday, he will turn two years old in two weeks  time and it will be Prince William and Catherine Middleton's Royal Wedding.

It is a Friday but the good thing is, I don't need to file a vacation leave from work because its an official holiday for us, of course because of the wedding.   Don't get me wrong, my family and me is here in the Philippines, and since I work for a company that operates in UK, we are on a holiday too!  To add more to that,  2nd of May is also a holiday in the UK and a Philippine Holiday too. Can u imagine the long vacation I am looking forward for?
The Royal Lovers really look in love.

Here is our lovely Gab!

Gab's Visit to Lola

Gab and I paid a visit to our dear grandmother on Sunday.  My son is lucky to meet his great grandmother, you see.  And you know what, its not really me whom they are looking after our visits, its Gab! My grandmother will not be contented if I will not bring Gab with me on any of my visit for her. She will go like, "ay bakit hindi mo man lang isinama yong bata" (Why didn't you bring Gab with you?")

Look at how she enjoy taking pictures with Gab....

Lola loves being sorrounded with kids. She's young at heart at the age 85.  That little girl is my lovely niece Ashley,  she is only four years old but very boyish and playful.

How I wish I have an RV, I wonder why its only in the US where you can find a lot.  If I have an RV, i can just go anywhere I want, and take my family with me.  I don't have to travel all the way from Cavite to Tondo and visit our grandmother only occassionally.  I will make sure to check rv insurance quote to avoid any hassle.

Free Things are Really Expensive

Since I had my son, I've always wanted to stay home more than I can be allowed to.  I want to spend the whole day just playing with Gab, putting him to sleep or feeding him.  These are the free things in life that are really expensive to do.  Doing this will make me lose my job and eventually not being able to  buy him toys, some clothes and even play with for rent in the mall.

Well,  I can still go to work and I thank Thee because I don't need to wear working uniforms.  Even when I was in school, I've always prayed its a Saturday everyday so I get to wear my pair of jeans and shirt.  I know I cannot stay in a company that requires staff to have unifoms.  Oh yeah, there is one exemption, nursing uniforms are beautiful, I think I can wear them for a month and thats it. I really didn't want to be a nurse but I i've always wanted to have nursing scrub tops, I want those colorful ones. It would be fun to visit medical uniform store in one of my free time. I will try to grab one for Gab, Rey and I, then we can play pretend wearing our uniforms.  Sounds fun to me.  Im sure Gab will enjoy.

At least Rey and I can spend time together with GAb and enjoy with our baby.

Young at heart

Having kids make you feel young.  Yes, you've heard it right. I feel younger now that I have my own baby.  Not necessarily being young in terms of age but being young at heart.  See these pictures below:

See?  Imagine how fun the picture looks like, imagine Rey and Lola enjoys playing with Gab's lego or riding that toy animal on the mall.  How do you think it would look like if its only Rey or Lola alone is playing the lego or riding that toy animal in the mall, don't you think it looks crazy? Gab can play with anything, he loves his lego, toy cars, his books on batman and cars.

Well, its not really all about toys, he can also play with anything you find at home.  He plays with our whole body sized-mirror, he carries the small desk fan all around the house of course his nanny runs after him, puspuhes our chair with casters, what he loves the most is placing all our rags and mattresses on a basin full of water.

How I wish I am still a kid.  But how come when we were still young, we pray so much to become older than we are.  I guess its all about inocence!

Have you heard of Sensa?

How many people do you know who've not complaint about their weight or figure?  I've known alot and I myself complains about my own weight.   Having all these complaints how many have managed to overcome weight problems.  Believe me, even my friends who are not obese complains about their weight.  I wonder whats perfect in the world or if there is anything perfect at all.

Anyway, have you heard about Sensa?  You've guessed it right, its a weight loss product.  But do you really know how it works?  According to one of the sensa reviews that i've stumble on the web, its a white powder that you sprinkle on your food before you eat and it attacks your olfactory nerve.  It will make you feel full even with a very small amount of food that you eat and would even prevent the feel of hunger.

Sounds good, and sounds really easy.  Imagine, you don't need to do exercise even for a few minutes. I myself is scared of the word exercise if even if you tell me to do it for only 20 minutes.  It will be the longest 20 minutes of my life .

Summer is for Swimming Time

You can't imagine how kids loves to play with water.  Today, Gab used his portable the first time.  We bought it way back before his first birthday last year and never got to use it.  Its just this time we thought of setting it up in the garage.  See how much he loved it playing in the water with his robots.  By the way, those robots never missed a bath everyday.  Gab would always bring them along when he takes his bath every morning.

Its best to save the water, so Rey re-used the water in Gab's portable pool.  It's now time to bathe Rey's other baby....

We are ready to hit the road again for another sunday family day.  My luggage set never missed it on the road every sunday.
